    Nice

Good location, fair value and rooms reasonably clean, the stairs though are steep if you are carrying luggage.

    location is perfect.

the crappy staircase where you sure will fumbling down in case of emergency escape. The receptionist "welcomed" us with a face as if we owed her a zillion dollars. That face made us decided not to dine in the hotel restaurant nor to have any encounter with her afterwards. The location is good except the street is busy all the time until 5am in the morning and I couldn't sleep well all nights due the screaming & fighting down the streets (sounded like killing though).

Warm welcome on arrival - clean rooms, good breakfast. Central location made exploring Amsterdam very easy - close to the station. Good value for money for those looking for somewhere a little bit nicer than a hostel but don't want to break the bank.

The place is situated close to the main station and the tourist centre of historic Amsterdam. Breakfast is sufficient, even so unvaried. The stuff is formal, but not friendly.

The description of the room was as “ DELUXE ROOM”. Nothing in that room matches what one normally understands under “deluxe”, neither condition nor furnishing. (maybe the view). I would be curious how “ordinary” rooms look like at that place. I got room number 22 on the ground floor on which is also situated the bar and the restaurant. I would no one suggest to take that room, if he likes to rest or to sleep sometimes during the day or at night. Due to the structure of that hotel, the guests enter that wing of the building through a door operated by the stuff of the reception. That means every guest gets buzzed in (which make a significant loud sound), the door then closes with a loudly BANG! . When guest leave the BUZZ is avoided.

There appear to be quite a few unfair reviews of Old Quarter on Booked.net - As long as you do not expect luxury accommodation, it is awesome value for money. And there is no reason to have a mistaken impression of the hotel, it is one of the cheapest hotels in the very centre of the city so therefore you should know you are not going to be staying in a five star monstrosity. The rooms are above a gorgeous little pub that provides a fast and cheerful breakfast service every morning. Yes - as per other reviews the walls are a little thin, especially if you have loud and obnoxious people on your floor, but knowing that in advance means you can think ahead and take some earplugs which work brilliantly. Yes the free wifi has limited coverage throughout parts of the hotel, but it is free wifi in a really cheap hotel - what more can you ask for? Fresh towels are supplied every day and room was perfectly clean. The hotel part above the pub is secure and the reception is manned 24 hours a day. If you want somewhere cheap to stay, right in the thick of the city, this place is amazing value.

Location is perferly close to Central station and tram station when you get back to the main street and accessible to everywhere. Breakfast is good so that you don`t have to eat outside since it seems difficult to have a fancy breakfast in Amsterdam. Staff is friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Old quarter Hotel last weekend. I have made request on a double room with a canal view but finally we were arranged for a room with 2 seperate single beds facing the backyards full of rubbish, need to shut window all day. Very basic, tiny, old and dirty room, full of bed bugs. I would say this room is rather suitable for backpackers only. Wall is really thin so that you can hear everything in the next room. And one night we were woke up by unknown sounds from knocking door and walls. It's fine if you are looking for an hostel, but forget about the benefits of an hotel.

    Very good

The location was excellent an the hotel generally is clean. Pillows were good and bedding was clean. We enjoyed breakfast.

The shared toilets were filthy, there were two single beds in a small room and the springs were not the best. The room was not like the picture and we had asked for a double.

situated in the very heart of old Amsterdam, where the sights, smells hussle and bussell of this amazing place is right at their front door, within a short walk to central station,we had a beautiful view from our room, basic as it was,it was clean and the shower, and toilet facilities were spotless, the breakfast was served by staff that couldnt have been friendlier, and it was two fried eggs and bacon with a pot of tea/coffee, and jams, all this for a very reasonable price,,couldnt beat it as we say in Belfast.
